Hi there!
My name's Dave McMinn, aka The Iron Haggis.
I am a 38 years old, self-taught blacksmith/bladesmith, living in Dundee, Scotland.
I began making at the start of lockdown in 2020, after wanting to get started for years and years, I finally found a place I could use to get crafting. A small shed in Fife, Scotland became my happy place, my escape from the city, the people, the noise. Just me, the birds and my hammer. Bliss...
Everything on here (including the website itself!) have been 100% made by my hand, my hammer and my anvil.

Hand Crafted Creations
Like many Blacksmiths and Bladesmiths who have picked up the craft over the last few years, I was initially inspired by watching the 'Forged in Fire' tv show.
Being a nerd growing up, I loved fantasy, sci-fi, horror, medieval weapons and armour. I always wanted a sword collection hanging on the wall.
When I got started I fell in love with learning to forge different things, like bottle openers, wall hooks, candle holders, keyrings, arrowheads, incense holders, fire pokers & cutlery sets.
I tried going to a car boot sale first. Not the right place at all. Lots of people curious to see what was on the table, but no-one really bought much.
I then had an Etsy store for a bit, but Etsy takes a pretty big cut and over time the place has just become inundated with mass produced items instead of the true hand-crafted pieces it used to be.
So I made my own website (using Shopify)
